The Marcus Worthington Group fully recognises the responsibilities placed upon it with regard to the health, safety and welfare of its employees under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
The company is fully dedicated to maintaining our excellent Health and Safety record, and considerable investment is made annually to provide training and resources for the planning and implementation of effective Health and Safety systems. We recognise that achieving high standards of Health and Safety is of paramount importance and believe all injuries are preventable.
Our accreditation to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 ensures that we continue to adopt a structured approach to our Health and Safety management. Compliance with the standard ensures that we place greater emphasis on our Health and Safety practices and that our approach to Health and Safety is continually assessed and validated by external British Standards auditors.
We also employ an independent Health and Safety consultant to regularly inspect our sites and audit our policies and procedures. Our registration with the Considerate Constructors Scheme ensures sites are managed with careful consideration to the general public, environment and surrounding neighbours, maintaining scores well above the national average.
Our membership with ROSPA and accreditation with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) strengthens our commitment towards achieving zero accidents and enforces a positive health and safety culture throughout the company. We aim to foster a work environment where everyone feels and demonstrates responsibility for their own Health and Safety and that of others.
