Marcus Worthington & Co Ltd was congratulated for its ‘major role’ in providing impressive accommodation for key NHS medical staff. The firm was singled out for praise at the official opening of a new 300-bedroomed facility at the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire. “It has been a demanding project, over three phrases, and Marcus Worthington & Co has proved an excellent partner,” said Tony Harrison, the chairman of the Progress Housing Group, which owns and manages property for the NHS throughout the country. “Whatever challenges we encountered, they always seemed to find the right solutions.” David Bowles, chairman of utilities at the Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome and the role of the builder has been key throughout. It is a fine example of what can be achieved when people work together for a common goal.” Giles Worthington, the contracts director at Marcus Worthington & Co, said: “It is always good to hear of customer satisfaction and we have developed a strong relationship with the Lincolnshire Hospital Trust, having carried out another major project at the County Hospital in Lincoln. “The Boston scheme is rated among the biggest of its kind in the UK. The first phase comprised a mixture of houses and apartments to enable existing residents to be relocated prior to demolition. Then we set about the second and third phases to build a further 267 bedrooms in the form of cluster flats.” |
